Dr. Abdul Aziz Parray, known as Aziz Hajini, was born on March 7, 1957, in Hajin Bandipora. His contributions to Kashmiri language and literature left an enduring imprint on the Kashmiri literary horizon. His academic journey is adorned with excellence. Hajini completed his early education from a Govt. School in his hometown, Hajin. After his graduation from the Govt Degree College, Bemina, he earned the Gold Medal for his major in Kashmiri from the University of Kashmir. Hajini's thirst for knowledge led him to obtain a Ph.D. in Kashmiri.
His literary prowess was evident in numerous publications, such as 'Pantchahan Variyan Hund Kashur Adab,' 'Paer Zaan,' 'Kaashire Naat,' and many more.. His multifaceted contributions spanned poetry, writing, theatre, broadcasting, and education, shaping various spheres of Kashmir's cultural landscape.
Hajini's impact extended to academia, where he served as a lecturer in Kashmiri at the University of Kashmir and played pivotal roles in the Department of School Education, Sheikh-ul-Aalam Coordination, JK Academy of Art Culture and Languages, and as President of Adbee Markaz Kamraz. Under his guidance, these departments experienced remarkable growth and development. Dr. Hajini's sincere endeavors led to the formal reintroduction of Kashmiri as a subject by the Department of School Education, an achievement deserving of golden accolades, aimed at fostering Kashmiri culture, language, and literature.
Not limited to academia, Hajini ventured into journalism, showcasing his versatility as a newscaster and anchoring renowned programs. Despite his profound dedication to Kashmiri language and literature, Hajini remained deeply connected to people from various walks of life.
Tragically, Dr Hajini's passing after battling illness cast a shadow of sadness, especially upon those who had the privilege of interacting with this eminent writer or were touched by his professional contributions. His legacy endures as a symbol of unwavering commitment to Kashmiri culture and language, leaving an irreplaceable void in the realm of Kashmiri literature.
