Baramulla:Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Baseer Khan on Saturday stressed on the literary organizations to act as a bridge between the language, culture, ethos and the younger generation ‘who were getting away from the traditions, cultural ethos’.
Speaking during a literary conference organized by Mehboob Cultural Society (MCS) under the supervision of Adbee Markaz Kamraz, Baseer Khan said tradition is the vital social element of any society which gives coherent shape to the identity of any society or nation.
The event was held in Degree College Baramulla (GDC) auditorium and was attended by a galaxy of scholars, intellectuals, poets, writers, students and civil society members.
A musical band of MCS also enthralled the audience.
Patron MCS Muhammad Amin Bhat presented the welcome address before the commencement of the event wherein six books- five of Prof Muhammad Rajab Sofi and one book of Ghulam Muhammad Mahir were released by Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Baseer Khan in presence of Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, and senior Superintendent of Police Baramulla Mir Imtiyaz Hussain.
Khan was Chief Guest on the occasion.
Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Baseer Khan praising the work of Adbee Markaz Kamraz and its constituent unit Mehboob Cultural Society Baramullla said that release of multilingual books during an event is not an easy job and organization like AMK and its leadership can only do such praiseworthy commendable works to attract younger and old people alike.
Khan said organizations like AMK are working hard to connect youngsters with their lost cultural ethos and others should join hands with them.
“It is the commitment and hard work of the writers who are writing and expressing their emotions to highlight the problems and different issues of society,” Div Com said.
Divisional Commissioner assured literary organizations of all possible help “whenever and wherever they feel the need”.
Principal Degree College Baramulla while expressing happiness over the conferences said that it is their privilege to host the event in which the books of college’s former faculty and students are being released by the leadership and member of the organization like AMK and its constituent MCS Baramulla.
Muhammad Amin Bhat presented the message of President AMK Dr Syed Shujaat Bukhari who is out of State.
Bukhari in his message said that AMK is committed to work towards inculcating youth’s interest in culture, language, and local traditions.
“We are hopeful that AMK will succeed in its motive and ideas put forth by its founders, we are feeling change on ground and youngsters are coming forward to follow the tradition and cultural ethos,” Bukhari said in his message.
Prof Rajab Sofi whose five books were released said that surroundings provoke a writer to write.
He said most of his writings are an outcome of the situation that emerged in 90s in the valley.
Encouraging the youngsters towards the writing, Sofi said that learning is the part of life.
Amin Bhat also presented a review paper written by Zameer Ansari on the book of Prof Rajab Sofi’s book. He also reviewed the GM Mahir’s book of short stories.
Later a separate interaction session was held with both the authors Prof Muhammad Rajab Sofi and GM Mahir in the meeting hall of the auditorium where issues regarding the contemporary world and regional literature were discussed.
It was later announced that MCS in the patronage of Adbee Markaz Kamraz will conduct one to one interaction sessions with prominent personalities and writers in collaboration with Degree college Baramulla and other educational institutions of repute in near future
